Oh the Places you'll Go!

Ohayou from Kyoto! It's a few minutes past 6:00 a.m. and we have a full day of walking and city bus tours ahead of us, so I thought I would squeeze in a quick post. Kyoto is a beautiful and bustling city filled with natives and plenty of tourists such as ourselves. Students have noticed increased ethnic diversity ( we have spotted Africans, Black-Americans, Europeans, Latin-Americans and Middle Eastern upon arrival), various fashion trends (Harajuku, corporate, boho-chic, gothic and everything in between!) and lots of variation with regard to the occupations of the people of Kyoto (artists, teachers, travelers, businessmen/women, students all seem to work and thrive here). This is in stark contrast to Yokohama, where most citizens were Japanese business men and women dressed solely in black and white corporate attire.

We will sight see nearly nonstop from 8:30 a.m. until late in the evening with our tourguide Mr. Suzuki. The students, Ms.V and I are having an absolute blast. Feel free to check out all that our young global citizens have been up to in the last few days. Keep your eyes peeled for another blog this evening.

Sayounara Matane, people!

  1. Domo Arigato, Ms. O. for your terrific update today. The photos are wonderful!!!! It looks like everyone has really gotten into the spirit of things Japanese. It's great to see all the smiling faces, including yours (holding that BIG sword...yikes!). Can't wait to read the next post (and hopefully see some more pic's). Big hugs to all!! Sayounara!
